Direct Debit - the easiest way to pay
Most people pay by Direct Debit. Using Direct Debit makes sure your Council Tax is always paid on time, you can spread the cost over the whole year and you can choose which day of the month to pay.
Payments are taken automatically from your bank account, so you don't have to worry about remembering to pay your bill. You are protected by a comprehensive guarantee which means you get a full and immediate refund from your bank if an error is made in the payment.
Why pay by Direct Debit?
- It saves you time
- It gives you peace of mind that your payment will be taken on time
- You spread the payments out over the year
- The payments can go out on any day of the month (apart from the 31st)
Other ways to pay
The quickest, easiest way to pay is by Direct Debit. If you choose not to pay by Direct Debit, there are three other ways to pay your bill:
- in one payment
- in 10 monthly instalments - you are automatically put on 10 month instalments
- in 12 monthly instalments - apply to pay in 12 month instalments.
You need the account reference from your bill to set up a payment.
