Council tax discount for residents of hostels or night shelters
Please note - If you're living in accommodation for the homeless, you're disregarded - that is, not counted - for council tax purposes.
To be eligible, the accommodation must:
- not be in self-contained sets of premises
- be used essentially for persons of no fixed abode.
How to apply
To apply for this discount, complete the application form and send it to the address on the form. You also need to send a letter from the hostel stating when you arrived and how long you can stay there.
